HOME Senior Care offers services that seniors will love and benefit from for years. We care about both your physical and your mental well being. We have affordable and compassionate solutions for families caring for loved ones, and for seniors who need extra help with daily activities.

HOME's personalized services are available in the areas of Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville and surrounding areas. We can provide services on a short-term, long-term or live-in basis: for as little as three hours a week, or 24/7, including nights, holidays and vacations.

All our services are performed by very experienced, highly trained and caring professional caregivers who are licensed, insured and bonded.

HOME will assist and serve elderly customers ages 65 and older in the designated region. These services include, but are not limited to, the following:

Household

  •  Meal Planning, Preparation, and Clean-up
   (This includes preparing meals and cleaning up after meal - dishes, etc.)

•  Transportation Facilitation
   (Providing transportation to appointments, events or visits with friends and family.)

•  Appointment Scheduling
   (Call doctors or healthcare professionals to set up required appointments and follow up.)

•  General Errands
   (Facilitate travel to run general, non-medical errands.)

•  Laundry and Ironing Assistance
   (Includes helping with the washing, drying, ironing, folding and putting away cloths.)

•  Change Linens
   (Remove bedding for laundry and replace with clean sheets.)

•  Grocery and Supply Shopping
   (Taking senior to the store for groceries and other supplies.)

•  Assist with Pet Care
   (If senior has their own pet the care worker will help look after them including feeding, walking, cleaning cage or tank, changing litter, etc.)

•  Family Support
   (Support family with care for elderly relative and assist in directing family to resources for funding, equipment, etc.)

•  Event Scheduling
   (Help schedule events and activities that will keep the seniors mind and body active.)

•  Mail and Bill Payment assistance
   (Assist with paying bills and handling mail.)

•  Security and Fraud Protection through door and phone screening
   (Assist in preventing seniors being taken by fraudulent businesses and individuals.)




Health Care (Non Medical)

  •  Mind Exercise
   (Studies have shown that computer-based brain training programs used by the elderly can rejuvenate their memories by up to ten years.)

•  Pet Therapy
   (Studies have shown that human interaction with pets has many positive effects on human beings including lowering blood pressure, increasing alertness, improving socialization with others, etc.)

•  Medication and Vitamin Reminder and Pick-up
   (Help remind and facilitate the delivery or pick up of medication.)

•  Bathing and Incontinence Care

•  Daily Exercise Assistance and Scheduling
   (Register and transport for public exercise classes designed for seniors in addition to walking the dogs used for the pet therapy.)

•  Mobility, Safety and Care Equipment Arrangement
   (Help arrange the purchase and installation of physical aids needed for in-home mobility including stair lifts, walkers, bath and shower handles, etc.)
